INVESTIGATION OF BIOLOGICAL ACTIVITY OF MONOFLORAL HONEY PRODUCED IN SOUTH WESTERN ANATOLIA

In this study, monofloral honeys (chaste, thyme, citrus, and heather) which were obtained from different sources members of Beekeeping Associations in South-West Anatolia studied for their antioxidant capacity, total phenolic amounts, flavonoid acetylcholinesterase (AChE), butyrylcholinesterase (BChE), urease inhibition activities. Antioxidant capacity honey samples was determined by β-carotene, DPPH, ABTS+ CUPRAC activity methods. samples, the highest found citrus with β-carotene/Linoleic acid color opening IC50: 7.99 mg/mL, DPPH free radical removal 5.28 mg/mL thyme honey. activity, it that heather 1.69 terms 2.80 chaste honey, metal chelating 1.56 The flavonoids amounts ranged 2.31 27.15 (μg PEs/mg) to 4.95 25.24 (µg QEs/mg), respectively. addition, AChE 24.25 BChE 27.93 34.89 concerning consecutively.
